Mindhunters - the movie

It's a really mind-blowing movie. Even my friend was scared at certain moments of the movie, when it is usually I who get scared more easily, at every little moment of a movie. ("Watched mindhunter with jo that day. Its a exceptionally good movie. it has a better plot than "the village". Well, i shamefully admit that i was quite scared at points of time during the movie, besides having to endure the artificial atmosphere made by jo's nudging and screams from behind.. haha..")

It is somewhat like the season finale of CSI:Las Vegas, where one of the investigators was buried alive in a coffin underground and his whereabouts was unknown to his colleagues, who were frantically trying to locate and save him. Go watch it if you are a fan of CSI or FBI episodes, like I am. You won't regret it.

7 FBI intern profilers are made to go through a stimulation exercise on an abandoned island, before their assessed performance will determine whether they make the cut. It gets really chilling to the bone when they realise there is someone among them who is putting them on his list of victims to be killed.

The shivers down one's spine occurs in the way the psychopath reads and analyses their minds for his own advantage, so as to achieve his ends. He makes use of their weaknesses, fears and bad habits to aid him in his methods of killing, catching them off-guard. However, he plays with them and gives them warnings before each act, making them feel that they have solved the mystery, when they really haven't. The interns and the audience are kept busy on their feet as to finding out who it is and how to stop him. Everyone there is a suspect and certain choices are picked out.

Their DNA analysis of the blood found on one of the victims is matched to one of them, in a heart-stopping moment but there is a twist to the ending. It is not her but someone totally unexpected, who is actually her partner. He turns out to have had murdered his parents when he was a child. After an intense battle, where he underestimates her, he dies in the same way that he had used to kill his victims, and she survives, with help from an investigator and having overcome her fear in the process.
